Board Members

Fiona Cook – Chairperson

Fiona has worked in the area of arts and disability in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria as a producer, performer, arts manager, curator, teacher, mentor, administrator and consultant. She is currently the Arts Development Manager at Arts Access Victoria. Her previous roles have included co-founder and Director of Cecil St Studio, Arts Development Manager at Scope Victoria, performer and facilitator with Weave Movement Theatre, Community Development Officer with St Vincent de Paul and Arts Project Leader for The Multiple Sclerosis Society. She has a background in dance and visual arts.

Janice Florence – Secretary

Weave Artistic Director and Co-Founder Janice Florence has trained in dance in Australia and the USA. In 1983 she completed a Graduate Diploma of Movement and Dance at Melbourne University. For 10 years, she was a performer, teacher and researcher with State of Flux. Janice has worked and had residencies with Karen Nelson, exponent of ‘diverse dance’ in the USA and with Blue-Eyed Soul, Touchdown and CanDoCo in the UK.

Maria Griffin

Maria originally trained as a visual artist. She has worked for many years in Arts Management at Gasworks Arts Park, previously with Weave Movement Theatre, Footscray Community Arts Centre and currently with Back to Back Theatre.

Sarah Fiddaman

Trained in ballet and contemporary dance in Germany. Sarah worked there for many years as a dancer in a ballet company. Back in Australia she has performed for some years with Tas Dance and set up the company ‘Dirty Feet’ in Sydney. Here she ran classes for people with disability among the other activities of the company. She is now turning her focus to arts management having completed managing a project for Arts Access Victoria in early 2016.

Ellen Connor
Commercial Manager at lexvoco, an innovative law firm and legal services provider. Ellen is a CPA with over 14 years of experience in finance, accounting, company secretarial, corporate governance and business services management.
She also brings to the board enthusiasm, an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for the arts and sustainable communities.
